Go for Bo! Grew from the idea of having a fun, healthy, and challenging community event to support the Child Rescue Centre and Mercy Hospital in Bo, Sierra Leone, Africa. The Republic of Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa bordered by Guinea, Liberia and the Atlantic Ocean. Bo is a town located in the Southern Province, with an estimated population of over 500,000. Sierra Leone is known for mining and exporting diamonds, but it struggles to manage exploitation and export in the diamond trade. Although the country holds great wealth, there is also extreme poverty. These factors have contributed to a situation in which child trafficking and public health are major problems. That's where we come in!

Through our first five Go for Bo! events, over 2,200 runners and numerous local sponsors have helped raise over $125,000 of direct financial aid to Helping Children Worldwide (HCW). Since 1999, HCW has been rescuing children, and since 2007 they have been providing health care services through Mercy Hospital.
